Join The Diocese

Interested in Joining the Diocese of Redemption?

Each year, we are excited to welcome new churches and ministers into the diocese. Often, one of the first points of contact that someone has with our diocese is on this website. If you are interested in learning more about the Diocese of Redemption, we are more than glad to set up a conversation to answer any questions you may have.

We try to keep the process of joining the Diocese of Redemption simple and straightforward. The first step is almost always to get to know each other over a cup of coffee or a video chat. The diocese is a network of churches connected not primarily by geography but by relationship. So that’s where we always start.

Considering Ordination?

If we don’t already, we need to get to know each other. The first step is to get in contact.

  • There is an informal interview process where we get to know you, your personal history, ministry experience, and calling to pastoral ministry

  • Typically, pastors must be at least 23 years, and deacons must be 21 years to be ordained in the DOR.

  • Depending on prior education and experience, we will work together to develop a ministry preparation plan and canonical examination.

  • Once the ministry preparation plan and exam has been successfully completed, there are a few formal documents to sign:

    • A written and signed Letter of Promise

    • A written and signed Declaration of Conformity

    • A written and signed Letter of Support from spouse (when applicable)

Considering Church Association?

If we don’t already, we need to get to know each other. The first step is to get in contact.

  • Typically, there is an informal interview process where we get to know your leaders, their vision, and the spiritual health of the church.

  • Once we are all aligned and happy to partner together, then there are a few more formal documents to sign:

    • A written statement of the intent to join the Diocese of Redemption

    • A written affirmation of the Doctrine and Worship of the CEEC-USA as well as the Canons of the Diocese

    • A signed copy of the Article of Association
